SING TAO DAILY

-- Undercover police information and reports were freely available online as an internet user found the files using Foxy file-sharing software while looking for music in MP3 files.
It's all about "how much you made when you were right" & "how little you lost when you were wrong"

That's an interesting idea. The problem is that you'll have to call out explicitly (or use a non-English alphabet character) to show how certain consonants should sound like (English vs HanYu PinYin sounding). Example:
- letter "b": Sometimes it's the normal "b" ("bua", 磨, grind), while sometimes it's a soft "b" ("bua", 盘, plate).
- letter "g": Sometimes it's the normal "g" ("gor", 鹅, goose), while sometimes it's a soft "g" ("gua", 歌, song).

Take a look at this page from Gaginang.org:

It's rather complex, unfortunately. It's quite interesting though, to see my father/aunt read the Chinese papers out in Teochew. :D I keep saying I want to go to the Teochew Poit Ip Huay Kuan (http://www.teochew.org.sg/index.html) to take up the advanced classes in Teochew, but never get around to doing it.

First Cut is the Deepest

Once upon a time, two little boys, Sammy and Tim, were sharing a room in the hospital. As they were getting to know each other a little bit, Sammy eventually asked Tim, "Hey, what're you in for?"

"I'm getting my tonsils out. I'm a little worried," said Tim.

"Oh, don't worry about it," Sammy said. "I had my tonsils out and it was a blast! I got to eat all the ice cream and Jell-O I wanted for two weeks!"

"Oh yeah?'' replied Tim. "That's not half-bad. So, Sammy, how about you? What're you here for?"

"I'm getting a circumcision, whatever that is," Sammy answered.

"Oh my god, circumcision? I got one of those when I was a baby and I couldn't walk for two years!"
