Oh, I luv it. I'll be watching it again on Saturday, overseas.

Lastly, the audience were very appreciative. Many clapped at the end of each number. A couple in my row turned up in identical Billie Jean costumes, complete with shimmering coat-bands on black vests. I think you will see more MJ die-hard fans on Saturday.

Yo, Lena Jie, thank you for your recommendations.

Yes, i would rate the movie 4 popcorns. The local cinema was quite empty, we didn't bump into any fanz. Where'd you be watching it again?

Come to think of it, Billie Jean, Black and White, were quite impressive & enjoyable ...

Hi to forumers who enjoyed "This Is It" :D All of you are a very observant lot :D .

SanSan, I watched it again in Bangkok and enjoyed it immensely. Every ticket holder was given a 11" by 15" exquisite album sovenir and the Thai response to the movie is much warmer. I have cut short my trip and returned home 2day.

Wanna check if you had watched the movie in its entirety?? Here's the test :-

The screen turned dark and Michael suddenly appeared on the stage and said:
"Let me breathe in my own time, when I come back. I can unbutton my shirt, my jacket, move around a little bit, play with them, snap my fingers, and BAM :!:

Dedication to Michael's children

Jackson's feet, attired in his sparkly sequinned socks and JC Penny loafers, marched into the screen.
He spun around, stood en pointe and screamed.

If you had missed the above, watch this end-of-movie footage :-
This Is Also It

Jackson admired Lewis Hines alot. Lewis was a University-of-Chicago educated sociologist turned photographer. He took many photographs of child laborers in US sweatshops and championed child protection. As a result of his efforts, the US wrote its first child labor laws. Lewis is also famous for his photographs of steel laborers working on NY's skyscrapers.
You can see LH's influence on the stage props of "This Is It".

Like Lewis, Jackson wanted his music to drive social agendas. He founded "Heal the World" foundation and wanted the US to declare a public holiday in honor of children. Well, we have Children's Day here and the US doesn't  . Way back in 1991, the "Dangerous" album contained a poem in its linear notes. In his book of poems, "Dancing the Dream", Jackson also included this poem.

He was certainly a visionary long before Al Gore and the likes championed saving the planet.
Here, you can listen to his recitation of his poem:

Recipe 3 : Start with yourself. Believe in yourself. Be true to yourself.

Taped conversation with movie director Ratner :
BR: You said something else before: Don't give up.

MJ: No matter what. I don't care if the whole world is against you or teasing you or saying you're not gonna make it. Believe in yourself. No matter what. Some of the greatest men who have made their mark on this world were treated like that--you know, "You're not gonna do it, you're not gonna get anywhere." They laughed at the Wright brothers. They laughed at Thomas Edison. They laughed at Walt Disney. They made jokes about Henry Ford. They said he was ignorant. Disney dropped out of school. That's how far they went. These men shaped and changed our culture, our customs, the way we live, the way we do things.

And I think God plants those seeds through people on the earth. And I think you're one, I'm one to bring some bliss and escapism, some joy, some magic. Because without entertainment, what would the world be like? You know? What would it really be like? It would be a totally different world for me. I love entertainment. And my favorite of all is film. The power and magic of movies. It's the greatest, it's the most expressive of all the art forms. I think it touches the soul. Music and movies are the most expressive. It's almost like religion. You get so involved, so caught up. You go in the theater a different person than you come out. It affects you that way. That's powerful. I think that's strong. I love that.

IMHO, it's easy to understand his obsession with the souls of children. During his 2005 child molestation trial, Jackson was fortunate to engage his original first choice lawyer, Thomas Mereseau. Earlier on Mereseau had declined the engagement because of other commitments.

Mereseau, an accomplished civil rights lawyer, said that he accepted the appointment only after he had conducted 2 personal investations. One of these was : he stalked the citizenry of Santa Barabara at the Delis, supermarts, malls. The purpose of which was to determine whether the citizenry (which will form the jury) would give Jackson a fair trial. He concluded they would. The result was a complete acquittal on 10 felony charges.

When I shopped for weekly provisions, I recall the fotos of many lost children were plasted on milk bottles.
Here's a Jackon tribute to children. I like the sounds of crickets at the end of the video when the screen darkened.

Out of consideration for K and MM, I replaced my Ma-Ma bear avatar

Recipe 4 : Be a visionary. (Jackson's exact words) Lena's addition : "Immortalize" oneself.

Jackson's music is color-blind, multi-generational and genre-less. And his music and dances are immortal.

Here you can hear compliments from :-

The Moscow Symphony Orchestra's Tribute : Smooth Criminal

The London Symphony Orchestra's Tribute - Thriller
