John Izzo

"If a speculator is correct half of the time, he is hitting a good average. Even being right 3 or 4 times out of 10 should yield a person a fortune if he has the sense to cut his losses quickly on the ventures where he has been wrong" - Bernard Baruch

There is no Truth without Goodness. Truth alone can confer beauty and auspiciousness. Truth is beauty, joy is beauty. Grief and falsehood are ugly because they are unnatural. Do your actions, that are approved by higher wisdom. Stay away from those actions that are born of ignorance. Then, all actions will be beneficial and blessed.

On Integrity:-

Good people do good things because of the good in their hearts. Bad people do bad things because of the evil in their hearts. Your words show what is in your heart.

Came across "The Dutch Disease" for the 3rd time this week. The most recent time while I was reading The Age of Turbulence by Greenspan just 1/2hr ago.

Dutch disease
Dutch disease is an economic concept that tries to explain the apparent relationship between the exploitation of natural resources and a decline in the manufacturing sector combined with moral fallout. The theory is that an increase in revenues from natural resources will deindustrialise a nation’s economy by raising the exchange rate, which makes the manufacturing sector less competitive and public services entangled with business interests. However, it is extremely difficult to definitively say that Dutch disease is the cause of the decreasing manufacturing sector, since there are many other factors at play in the very complex global economy. While it most often refers to natural resource discovery, it can also refer to “any development that results in a large inflow of foreign currency, including a sharp surge in natural resource prices, foreign assistance, and foreign direct investment.”[1]

The term was coined in 1977 by The Economist to describe the decline of the manufacturing sector in the Netherlands after the discovery of natural gas in the 1960s, culminating in the world's biggest Public-Private Partnership (P3) N.V. Nederlandse Gasunie between Esso -now ExxonMobil, Shell and the Dutch government in 1963.[2]

It is true that millions come easier to a trader after he knows how to trade than the hundreds did in the days of his ignorance

the above is quoted from a legendary trader and i leave it to you to discover which sage immortalized these words...

more importantly, it is the content that must be examined closely and understood to be beneficial to the recipient. in this instance, the fact that knowledge in trading, as a skill, is the impetus to success is the essence of this message.
this knowledge is not just about the markets, the tools but equally critical, about oneself.

Word to the Wise: Officious

"Officious" (uh-FISH-us) - from the Latin for "a sense of duty" - is another way of saying "meddlesome."

Example (as used by Ken Follett in Code to Zero): "The guy was an officious twerp, but Luke and Pete were vagrants, and a railroad employee had the right to throw them out."

See yourself in all; Love all as yourself.

A dog caught in a room whose walls are mirrors sees in all its myriad reflections, and thinks of them as not itself, but as its rivals and competitors. It barks at the other dogs and tires itself out by jumping on this reflection and becomes mad with fury.

The wise man, however, sees himself everywhere and is at peace. He is happy that there are so many reflections of himself all around him. That is the attitude that you must learn to possess, it will save you from needless bother.
