The stock market will drop 32% in 2025 as the Fed fails to save the economy from a recession, research firm says

by Matthew Fox

The S&P 500 will plunge 32% in 2025 as a recession finally hits the US economy, BCA Research predicts.

The firm said the Fed will fail to prevent a recession as it takes its time cutting interest rates.

Rising unemployment and constrained credit will curb consumer spending, worsening the downturn.

These Stocks Could Soar in the Second Half of 2024

by Marc Chaikin

The U.S. stock market is still the most attractive option for most folks’ money. Even a slowing economy is likely to be a bullish catalyst as the Fed leaps into action… And again, that’s just one reason we should expect more gains ahead.

We want to be invested in stocks – not just this month, but through the end of the year.

Don’t Wait Around for a Better Chance to Buy Stocks (The Best Time to Act is Now)

by Brett Eversole

Today, AI is the sweeping trend that will change the world as we know it – and fuel a financial mania along the way.

With major companies spending tens of billions of dollars, this bull market will soar to unimaginable heights…

In short, the current market environment is poised to keep heading higher. We’re simply not going to get a second chance at the lows of previous years.

I Think Stocks Can Still Run Higher From Here

by Jeff Havenstein

It’s easy to be the doom-and-gloom guy. But it’s lucrative to be the second investor, buying stocks after a fresh all-time high.

My advice today is to have your money in the stock market… Then just wait for the next new all-time high. It should be coming shortly.

Stocks Could Jump Double Digits to End 2024

by Brett Eversole

When prices begin moving higher, folks want in on the gains. Higher prices bring in more and more buyers… And the flood of new buyers pushes prices even higher.

It’s a virtuous cycle. When the uptrend is in place, it tends to stay that way. That’s exactly what we’ve seen over the past two years.

We often write about the power of investing with the trend. And today, the trend is in our favor.

History shows this momentum should continue. We could see double-digit gains by the end of 2024. And that means we want to stay bullish right now.

History Tells Us Stocks Are Likely to Soar Higher From Here

by Sean Michael Cummings

A bull market this narrow can resolve in one of two ways… either the gains broaden out or the market crashes.

We can see the broadening bull run using the ratio of the S&P 500 Equal Weight Index to the S&P 500…

Don’t let the bears’ “narrow” narrative scare you out of stocks. The bull market has started its broadening phase… And history tells us stocks are likely to soar higher from here.

We’re Staying Long Stocks

by Brett Eversole

Mom-and-pop investors are buying. They own more stocks in their portfolios than they have in years. But this bullish attitude has a long way to go before it’s a cause for concern.

With stocks on the rise, market sentiment is improving. But improved sentiment won’t kill this boom.

We have plenty of runway before euphoria takes hold… And that means we’re staying long today.

Be Cautious of Buying Stocks Right Now

by Jeff Clark

For the first time all year, the McClellan Oscillators are screaming “CAUTION!”

These indicators are telling us the market is vulnerable to a short-term pullback. Traders will likely have a better opportunity to buy stocks in the days ahead than they do right now.

BofA: US Stocks May See 5-10% Correction on Rising Election Uncertainty

A research team at Bank of America commented that increased uncertainty over the US election could lead to a pullback in equities in the coming months, and it expected market volatility to increase, with a possible 5% to 10% correction in US stocks.

Savita Subramanian, head of US equity strategy and US quantitative strategy at BofA, said the market may have overestimated the impact of politics on the market.

However, she noted that individual sectors may be under pressure due to a potential change in leadership in the White House, and she also expected volatility indices to pump up during the campaign.

Healthcare stocks' exposure to government contracts exposed them to both Democrats and Republicans.

Green energy stocks could also be affected by a Republican White House. Technology stocks will face additional regulation if the Democrats remain in the White House, and smaller regional banks will also face more regulatory risk.

Still, BofA maintained a positive outlook on the US economy, which the bank considered strong even as it cools.
