US Fed Vice Chair Hints Changes to Bank Capital Rules, Expects to Discuss Slowdown in Rate Hikes This Mth

The Federal Reserve is exploring adjustments to the capital requirements for banks, as the inability of supervisors to predict unexpected impacts would warrant higher overall capital levels, said Fed Vice Chair of Supervision Michael Barr.

On another note, Barr added that the Fed has reached a restrictive territory and can now get to a sufficiently restrictive rate at a slower pace.

The vice chairman remarked that relevant topic will be discussed at this month's Fed meeting.
