Bank of America Corp (BAC) Stock Is a Screaming Buy After Q3 Earnings

Street-beating revenue and profits set up BAC stock for a strong run into the end of 2016

By Dan Burrows

Even after the recent run, BAC stock has a price-to-book multiple of just 0.68.

That was justifiable when the bank was laid low and the future was very much in doubt — but not any more.

At some point, the market is going to recognize the real progress BAC has made over the last few years.

Bank of America Corp (BAC) Is an Even ‘Biglier’ Buy Under Trump

Expectations of a lighter regulatory framework has investors in BAC stock looking up

By Dan Burrows

The P/B ratio is up to 0.72 from 0.68 just a month ago — and a midsummer low of 0.55.

BAC stock was already doing well with a number of its issues. Rates look like they’re going to go up, it didn’t get slammed by bad debt emanating from the energy sector. Joblessness is down and hiring is up.

As much as the expected regulatory changes could be bad for consumers, they will undoubtedly benefit Bank of America and its peers.

The One Stock to Buy Amid the Banking Panic

by Jody Chudley

Since early February of last year, Bank of America’s stock price has dropped from just under $50 to $28.

That is a steep decline of 42%.

In the days after the collapse of Silicon Valley Bank, more than $15 billion in new deposits flowed into Bank of America.

Warren Buffett owns a whopping $33 billion worth of Bank of America stock, representing 13% of the company.

As of December 31, 2022, Bank of America had more than $1.9 trillion in customer deposits. Almost 113 million of them had balances of less than $250,000 and are eligible for Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) insurance.

This year, the consensus analyst estimate is for Bank of America to earn $3.41 per share. For next year, those expectations rise to $3.64 per share.

That means this big bank is currently trading at 8.2 times this year’s earnings and just 7.6 times 2024 earnings.

That is very cheap for one of the most important banks in the world.

Also attractive is Bank of America’s dividend, which is currently set at $0.22 per quarter. That’s a yield of 3.14%.

Warren Buffett Owns a Lot of Stocks -- Here's the 1 I'm Most Excited About

By Bram Berkowitz – Mar 28, 2023

KEY POINTS

The banking crisis has led to a sell-off in Bank of America stock.

While there are some near-term concerns, Bank of America should be able to navigate through them and rebound.

The stock now trades at a very attractive valuation.

At the end of 2022, Bank of America had close to $172 billion of tangible common equity and nearly $109 billion of unrealized losses sitting in its HTM folder.

It also has more than $1 trillion of retail deposits and operates a large investment bank and a large wealth business.

Bank of America has more than 112.7 million bank accounts each with less than the $250,000 limit .
