cool!

i just tried it - 1 min ago!

remember to put a scotts-wipe paper underneath, or wear an apron? you don't want to kena the stain which is difficult to remove due to the presence of tannins in e mangosteen juice.

durians do not have this hor?!

it is very important for 1st timers to indulge in only very good grade durians, such as D24. this is because there are always rotten apples everywhere...no exception for durians too.

first impressions are also very lasting, and so, if u had a bad durian in your 1st tasting, chances are you will not grow to like durians later.

so lapap : u said u had 5 seeds and felt you had 1 year's intake...maybe u should just try D24 the next time.

mangosteen.... u cant get the colourings off your clothings...the stains are permanent...so, dont wear your tux and gowns when feasting on this Queen of Fruits...

I read your post differently. I interpret it to mean when playing with blue chips, one should do the top-down version whereas the opposite apply for penny stock. ;)

below paragraphs are taken from investopedia:

Bottom-up investment (our mangosteen): an approach that de-emphasizes the significance of economic and market cycles. This approach focuses on the analysis of individual stocks. In bottom-up investing, therefore, the investor focuses his or her attention on a specific company rather than on the industry in which that company operates or on the economy as a whole. This approach assumes that individual companies can do well even in an industry that is not performing very well. Making sound decisions based on a bottom-up investing strategy entails a thorough review of the company in question. This includes becoming familiar with the company's products and services, its financial stability and its research reports.

>>> Sanny (this is a nice name indeed) is still reading the New Wizard book, page 221, the example is in Driehaus's trader casestudy, whereby he believes in greater profit opportunities in high growth stock, usually stocks with high P/E ratios ...

Thus, let us look at top-down investment (our durian): an approach that involves looking at the "big picture" in the economy and financial world and then breaking those components down into finer details. After looking at the big picture conditions around the world, the different industrial sectors are analyzed in order to select those that are forecasted to outperform the market. From this point, the stocks of specific companies are further analyzed and those that are believed to be successful are chosen as investments. An investor may use different criteria when deciding to employ the top-down approach. For example, an investor may consider such factors as geography, sector and size. What is important with this approach is that a big picture perspective is taken first before looking at the details. Although there is some debate as to whether the top-down approach is better than the bottom-up approach, many investors have found the top-down approach useful in determining what sectors are superior.

san ...thanks for this crash course on opening a durian...

as an aside...if u have seen the video, you will have noticed that this durian is too "watery"...evident from the browning of the internal husks...

there's a way to "predict" this situation...by looking at the stalk of the fruit. if the stalk is "wet" or "soaked" then it probably was harvested during a rainy season. the fruit was not collected in time before it started taking in some rain water...

hence, one should buy a "dry" looking durian...listen to the "thud" when shaken lightly...not shaken like a medium (tung ki) in action... and smells right...doesnt weigh too heavy for its size... and of cos, be familiar with the D24 shape, if u r gunning for those... don be conned into paying D24 pricing for a kampong durian...

if not sure, look for the post showing the unique shapes of the each type of durian...

no lah....it makes sense, becos when the fruits are too low hanging, there are exposed to many animals ...and so, thru evolution, these fruits are usually very high up...

i think the only reasoning is that this tree is a young one...

but the shape of the fruit is very beautiful...maybe a good breed....yummy....

so, u keeping a secret on where this picture was taken, right?
