2012-14: Predicions, Feng Shui, Astrology, Resolutions etc

My england not so good ...

Opinion, Judgement ... they mean the same thing to me ie. I'm judging and or forming an opinion, on whether something is right or wrong, good or bad, white or black etc.

And nowadays, the world is just a shade of gray, no longer a distinct black or white as in my earlier years. ( Maybe it's time to clean the glasses :P ).

So on this subject of Feng Shui again, the position that I'm taking is that it may or may not work. And my opinion and judgement is not really based on Ignorance but after reading dozens of books over a decade ...

And sometimes, it's also not really necessary to form an opinion or to make a judgement either ie. this is the "Defenseless Strategy" where there's no real need to defend anything either .... right-wrong, good-bad, white-black - it all does not matter to me ...

Ha Ha ... dont know, as I dont really use Feng Shui to invest.

But there are some articles above, from some supposedly famous masters. ( But like I said before, everyone seems to be a master or grandmaster :P )

Hmmm ..... if I dont use Feng Shui to invest, what do I really use to invest ? Not CANSLIM, not TA, not FA, not contrarian, not dividends ...

Rojak ? Salivating now. And it's too early to go out and buy some rojak :(

Year of the Dragon may burn Putin, light up for Pacino

TAIPEI (Reuters) - The coming Year of the Dragon will bring actor Al Pacino good fortune, but Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin needs to watch out -- he may lose vast sums of money.

As Chinese communities around the globe prepared for Lunar New Year, which starts on Monday, a Taiwanese fortune teller predicted a mixed bag of luck for famous "dragon" people around the world.

"Putin was born in 1952 ... This year he has a negative Treasure Star, it means he could lose a lot of money," Chan Wei-chung said of the possible fortune of the Russian leader, who last month faced widespread protests over a disputed election.

"As a country's leader, it is possible that he will not get the money he should earn, or the money he earns in the end all needs to be spent out again," Chan added, using an ancient Chinese method that plots destiny from alignments of stars in 12 "palaces" at the time and date of birth.

For veteran actor Al Pacino, born in 1940, the year is brighter, particularly if he does good deeds.

"This card reads 'bright sunshine,' which means he could turn away trouble with good luck, because of his works of charity or the help he has done for others," Chan said, consulting a set of fortune-telling cards he designed himself.

"This is a very lucky sign, we are very happy for him."

Sandra Bullock, born in 1964, needs to watch out for manipulative people beside her, but may have a chance of conceiving, while Reese Witherspoon, born in 1976, may enjoy more work success despite suffering from stress.

Chan, whose advice is much sought after by Taiwan's glitterati, sees a magic year for British actor Rupert Grint, of Harry Potter fame, but only if he heeds his elders.

"This year he has helpful forces by his side ... unstoppable connections in the rise of fame. His money comes from elders this year, this includes any seniors, his agent or his company, who can all help him to earn more money," Chan said.

Fire-breathing Water Dragon

The active Dragon ushers in an energetic year characterised by movements and changes, and reforms in the political and social spheres, predicts renowned Hong Kong feng shui master Raymond Lo.

It's an election year for several countries, and this includes Malaysia.

"There will be presidential elections in the United States, Russia, Taiwan, France and India, as well as the election of Hong Kong's Chief Executive. Such elections may spearhead progress, changes and courageous reforms," says Lo, who believes the Year of the Water Dragon is not a good year.

"It will be marked by economic slowdown and an increase in epidemics and health risks involving viruses."

The bad feng shui in the South-East is similar to the scenario in 2003 when South-East Asia was afflicted by SARS.

"Hence it is necessary to hang a metal windchime in the South-East of your home," Lo advises.

The year will not be peaceful. Lo predicts that there will be conflicts and disharmony in international relationships but the clashes will be less violent than in the last two years when metal reigned over wood.

The worrisome news is that there will be more natural calamities such as floods and earthquakes.

Riding the Dragon: 2012 predictions from Chinese masters By Joyce Woo
AFP News

Want to know what's in store for 2012? Who will win the US election? Will the eurozone implode? China's feng shui masters tackle the big issues with their predictions for the Year of the Dragon.

As Chinese communities around the world prepare to ring in the new year on Monday, astrologers and geomancers are predicting the dragon will bring natural disasters and financial volatility, especially to crisis-hit Europe.

"The world economy will be unstable in the Year of the Dragon, because the economies in Europe and the US are still suffering from the effects of the recession," Hong Kong feng shui master Anthony Cheng says.

( Winston: I can also tell you that :P )

Celebrity astrologer Peter So says the United States will provide some good news late in the year, but his charts for Europe make grim reading.

"Europe will not recover so soon -- it is expected to suffer at least until 2014. But what I can say is this, a recovery for the US economy is possible in 2013," he says.

( Winston: I will probably say that too :P )

If you're prepared to ride the dragon and invest in 2012, Russia and China could be your best bets. The two emerging markets will be the best performers in a volatile year, says Cheng.

But be prepared for surprises, especially out of China where the Communist Party will hold its 18th Congress to select a new generation of leaders.

"In the second half of the year, a scandalous corruption case will be exposed in China," warns Cheng, refusing to elaborate about who will be implicated.

( Winston: Why is corruption in China, a surprise ? :? )

"I can also predict that in Hong Kong and in mainland China, a number of high-ranking officials will be forced to step down. Some may be thrown behind bars, or even pass away."

Many Chinese take such predictions seriously and adjust their lives accordingly. Feng shui, the ancient study of the forces of chi, or life energy, is a daily part of life in the Chinese world.

One of Hong Kong's largest brokerages, CLSA, releases a Feng Shui Index every year, offering its "tongue-in-cheek" predictions for global markets and world affairs.

Lest anyone takes it seriously, CLSA admits that feng shui's "original purpose was to locate auspicious burial spots, not call the twists and turns of the equity markets or individual sectors".

But it has a stab anyway, even if some of its predictions are less than audacious. For example, it says the stars point to a "job opening" for Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping, the man everyone expects to become China's next ruler after the 18th Congress in October or November.

As for US politics, the soothsayers are more cautious. When asked who will win the US elections, So refuses to make a prediction without precise information about the dates and times of the candidates' births.

"Sometimes luck depends on the country itself, rather than an individual president," he says enigmatically.

"For the US, they are starting to have luck on their side again, so it is going to be a good year no matter who's elected."

The five Chinese elements are wood, fire, earth, metal and water, and 2012 is tipped to be big on water. This could mean riches and abundance, but it could also spell disaster.

Well-known Hong Kong astrologer Alion Yeo says we should brace for storms and floods. "Expect to see a lot of flooding in areas like Thailand and South East China," he says.

So sees similar portents, but with an earthy twist.

"Indonesia, Pakistan, India and places in China like Sichuan, Yunnan and Guizhou are particularly disaster-prone. They are likely to experience frequent earthquakes," he says.

While the ancient Chinese were developing their systems of astrology and geomancy, people across the Pacific were finding other ways to predict the future.

The Mayans of modern-day South America purportedly had a calendar that showed the world would come to an end on December 21, 2012.

Like the historians who rubbish such interpretations of Mayan belief, So says there is no need to fear the end is nigh.

"Doomsday is just a bunch of make-believe," he says.

Dragon smiles on HK tycoons, says feng shui master

HONG KONG — Some of Hong Kong's richest property tycoons were born in the Year of the Dragon and can expect a prosperous 2012 under their auspicious birth-sign, a feng shui master said Wednesday.

"The element of earth is especially pronounced in the Year of the Dragon, so people born this year will have an advantage in business related to the earth -- real estate for example," Hong Kong geomancer Si Tou Kin Fu said.

Hong Kong's richest man, Li Ka-shing, was born in the Year of the Dragon in 1928. The chairman of Cheung Kong Holdings and Hutchison Whampoa, he has a net worth of $22 billion and is ranked 11th on the Forbes billionaires list.
