There's now probably 300m people who are considered "middle class" by American Standard.

Crocs in the First Class cities are no big deal anymore. If people can afford cracked i-phones at RMB6000 a piece, what's RMB 250 ?

Crocs is making a comeback.

On the Ichimoku Daily Chart, it just had a Bullish Tenkan sen – Kijun sen cross; breaking through a key resistance.

The resistance at 7.19 comes from the kumo on the Weekly Chart.

Recently, I was at a Chinese Shopping Mall. I was surprised to see people inside the Crocs shop as the weather was getting cold.

I then noticed that they were buying Crocs with a lining inside the Crocs. Not sure whether the lining is enough for the cold Chinese winter but it's a very good idea ...

Crocs Shares Jump After CEO Says Co Will Be Profitable In 2010

http://online.wsj.com/article/BT-CO-201 ... theadlines

NEW YORK (Dow Jones)--Shares of Crocs Inc. (CROX) jumped Thursday after its chief executive projected that the shoe maker will be profitable for 2010.

Speaking at the ICR Xchange conference in Dana Point, Calif., on Wednesday, Chief Executive John Duerden said the company is "poised for profitable growth in 2010" as it has strengthened and refocused its product line within the last year.

He added consumer demand is at a higher level than the company expected and U.S. same-store sales are up, while its sell-throughs at wholesale are also improving in the U.S. and Asia.

Shares of the company jumped 13% to $7.13 in recent trading. The stock, which hit an intraday high of $7.46, has fallen 9.7% in the last three months.

A company representative couldn't immediately be reach for further comment.

Industry insiders have called Crocs footwear a fad, but within the last year the company, whose first product was a marine shoe, worked to reduce inventory, manage costs and aimed to clean up its balance sheet during the downturn.

At Wednesday's conference, Duerden said the company is now debt free and had reduced its inventory by 60% at the end of the third quarter. He added the company's cost of goods has also significantly improved as it closed six warehouses in the U.S. and is seeking to close more warehouses abroad.

PiperJaffray senior research analyst Jeffrey P. Klinefelter raised his full-year 2009 estimates on the company, saying it is reasonable to assume the company can reach profitability in 2010. Klinefelter said his firm's checkpoints show accelerating momentum in both Crocs stores and key wholesale accounts.

now we can appreciate the risks involved in holding stock positions into earnings season....and the need to either liquidate them before earnings announcement or manage the risks somehow...

Crocs (CROX) has a sell off for the past 3 days after its estimated earnings for short of the consensus.

While the selling is fast and on high volume, we do need to watch out for a swift rebound.

From the Ichimoku chart, we can see the following:

1. Daily Chart shows that it is sitting right on the kumo support with RSI fast approching oversold.

2. Weekly Chart shows that it is still on a nice long uptrend and sitting on the Kijun sen for support.

In other words, the long term trend is still intact.

Tonight, price action will have an impact. Further selldown will suggest that it is going into bearish mode.

However, given that the company has highlighted about the earnings guidance and it fell within the consensus range, I think it will be poised for a rebound soon.

I am starting to look for some swing play in the retail sector.

Mid-Sept now. Pretty good time to pick up some retail stocks.
