Singapore - Floods & Droughts 01 (Jun 11 - Dec 11)

Hi Winston,

I am still vested in Starhill G R.
I was in NAC last week and ate at one of my regular cafe there, asked around and they confirmed to me not affected at all. I asked because ION was next to it and i knew ION was affected. Probably ION has more basement floors than W.A. ?

That feature at NAC is called the ‘Flood Gate”, its is located at Lucky Plaza underpass towards NAC end, in case u curious how it look like, at dat popular Louis Vuiton shop (level 1) take the escalator down and walk down to B1 you can see it…actually it is a ship hack-cover technology hydraullically manually operated installed by Macgregor company, hehe commission by me in 1994…..it a requirement by this MRT authority (cost borne by building owner) to prevent flooding water rush into the Orchard mrt station which is very deep below ground level , Engineer had predicted the monsoon drain problem which is located directly above that underpass and at last after more than 1.5 decade first time they used it, they are many water detector (pre warning devices) along the floor, linked to key personnel hp.

2012.....coming.....better take your profits...buy that boat you've been eyeing on... grab that last sentosa cove residence.... savour your last XO durian..... speed down tuas in your newly acquired ferrari.... max out your credit cards at RWS and Sands casinos....

Hi Chinaman :D
Noted yr contribution to the hydraulic powered floodgate :D . I watched how the ION floodgates worked on TV and was impressed with it. Last nite, I watched a 1hr program on phoenix TV abt the flooding diasters in China. Their highly built up cities face difficulties similar to Singapore's. It's all a case of urbanization without giving much thought to its impact on mother earth.
