But really, do u know the differences among these? I duno I assume there are differences to justify the higher pricing..

At least, they beat AMD hands down in this aspect

I think for average users, we will barely notice the difference between a i3 from a i7 for the things we do daily using the computer.

I think the shareholders are going to lose 2 years in Intel.

2. The trend will END but I don't know WHEN.

Did you remember how the INTC was telling you how great things were and you immediately went out to buy some Tech stocks ?

While its recent 2Q10 numbers did come in above expectations, the more pertinent issue would be its guidance for 3Q10.
This also turned out to be above market forecasts, where Intel is guiding for revenue of US$11.2 – 12b as compared to expectations of US$10.9b. Given this bullish outlook which in turn speaks well of the macro picture, we thus maintain our OVERWEIGHT recommendation on the technology sector.

And after only 3 months, they are telling you that they cant meet expectation. Listen to these cheer-leaders at your own risk...

Intel warns of sales shortfall By Noel Randewich and Franklin Paul

SAN FRANCISCO/NEW YORK (Reuters) - Intel Corp warned that third-quarter revenue could fall short of its own estimates by more than $1 billion, reinforcing doubts about the strength of a technology sector recovery.

Baird & Co analyst Tristan Gerra expects weakness to persist over several quarters before demand bounces back in the second half of 2011, but warned of a longer-term threat from tablets like Apple Inc's iPad replacing PCs.

"That trend will continue in Q1 until we fix the inventory issues in the second," he said. But "there's going to be more challenges for Intel next year, even if the market eventually picks up."

Other analysts pointed to a silver lining: Intel said resilient corporate demand was helping prop up average prices even though consumer demand in mature markets was weaker than expected.

"Even though the news is bad, the bad news is already in the valuation. Obviously, business isn't going great there, but the stock is so cheap this doesn't matter," said Stephen Massocca, managing director at Wedbush Morgan.

Intel now expects third-quarter revenue of $10.8 billion to $11.2 billion, down from a previous forecast of $11.2 billion to $12.0 billion and below analysts' average expectation of $11.5 billion, according to Thomson Reuters I/B/E/S.

"People were relieved it was not worse," said Avian securities analyst Dunham Winoto.

Intel now sees gross margins in the period of 65 to 67 percent. It had previously forecast gross margins of 67 percent, plus or minus a couple of points -- near a record high for the company.

"The big news is enterprise and server demand is holding up. And Intel still expects to grow (revenue) and gross margins also," said JMP Securities analyst Alex Gauna.

INTEL IS CHEAP… AND HAS CARVED OUT A BOTTOM

Another tech bottom worth noting today…

Over the past few weeks, we've noted that giant, near-monopoly tech companies like Intel, Microsoft, and Google are trading at super-cheap levels when you strip out their giant cash hoards.

These firms won a race that began in the 1990s… the race to become the dominant suppliers and servicers of the computer age. Their first-place trophies allow them to generate large and reliable cash flows. In the past few months, however, concerns about future growth and the overall market have bludgeoned their share prices. But as we noted yesterday, Google has put in a solid, tradable bottom. So has Intel…

We follow Intel because it's a favorite of our colleague and master stock picker Dan Ferris. Dan loves Intel's dominant position in the semiconductor industry, its huge profit margins, and its current Extreme Value levels of cheapness.

Like Google, Intel had a rough summer. The stock fell from a high of $24 per share to a low of $18. Weeks later, after the company lowered its profit outlook a bit, sellers tried to push the stock below the $18 level. But it held like a rock. Big tech is cheap… and looks like it has bottomed.

Intel Q3 Profit Rises; Guides Q4 Revenues - Quick Facts 10/12/2010 4:25 PM ET

(RTTNews) - Santa Clara, California-based integrated circuits maker Intel Corp. (INTC: News ) reported third-quarter net income of $2.9 billion or $0.52 per share, compared to $1.8 billion or $0.33 per share in the prior year quarter.

On average, forty analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings of $0.50 per share. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

"These results were driven by solid demand from corporate customers, sales of our leadership products and continued growth in emerging markets." said Paul Otellini, Intel president and CEO.

Revenue for the quarter was $11.1 billion, compared to $9.4 billion in the same period a year-ago. Thirty-seven Wall Street analysts expected revenues of $10.99 billion.

"Looking forward, we continue to see healthy worldwide demand for computing products of all types and are particularly excited about our next-generation processor, codenamed Sandy Bridge, and the many new designs around our Intel Atom processors in everything from the new Google TV products to a wide array of tablets based on Windows, Android and MeeGo operating systems." said Otellini.

Looking forward, for the fourth quarter, the company said it expects revenue of $11.4 billion, plus or minus $400 million.

So these guys went from a negative outlook to a positive outlook ? If these "experts" cant even see 3 months out, what chance do I have ?

Intel's 3Q offers upbeat outlook for PC industry

Investors were hoping for a sign from Intel Corp. that the bottom didn't fall out of the consumer personal computer market in the third quarter. The company showed Tuesday that the market held up reasonably well and should stay steady into the all-important holiday shopping season.

Intel shares rose slightly after the world's biggest maker of microprocessors, the "brains" of PCs, reported that its net income leaped 59 percent and revenue rose 18 percent. The results topped analysts' expectations and showed that economic jitters didn't ruin consumers' appetite for new computers during the back-to-school crush.

Intel's fourth-quarter forecast suggests that demand is expected to stay solid.

It was what many anxious investors had hoped to see, since the fall quarter was widely considered a bust for PC makers, and some feared the winter period would also be bleak.
