I think that's Upper Thomson, near Sin Ming road. It's also the danger spot where a number of pedestrians were knocked down whilst crossing the road to get to the Catholic Church (forgot the name of the church).
I used to live where the Canadian roads are located.

Singapore - Floods

Postby iam802 » Thu Jul 01, 2010 10:17 pm

Sooner or later, flood in Singapore cannot be classified as NEWS anymore.

-----------

Floods in S'pore again

http://www.straitstimes.com/BreakingNew ... 48173.html

SOME parts of Singapore were flooded again on Thursday, with waters rising up to knee-high, due to another heavy downpour in the afternoon.

Floodwaters were seen along Paterson Road, near Wheelock Place in Orchard Road, the scene of the worst flooding in 26 years two weeks ago, as well a in Tai Seng Road, Kampong Ampat Road and MacPherson area.

The National Environment Agency (NEA) warned of heavy showers with thunder between 1 pm and 2.30 pm on Thursday.

A reader of STOMP said the canal near Tai Seng Drive overflowed during the heavy rain, flooding the road outside the StarHub building.

'The canal beside the road was full and it overflowed, which caused a small flood,' said STOMPer tanwk.

In Kampong Ampat, floodwaters rose to knee-high.

More than 100 mm of rainfall was recorded during two of the heaviest downpour in June, causing floods in many parts of Singapore.

No worries about great floods in Singapore.
Our government damn far sighted one.
Years ago, they already had the Americans built the largest surf board in the world at the Marina area.
When not in use for emergency, it is a casino.
Quite costly though, the surf board took about S$5-6b to build.
The completion of the surf board coincides with the biggest floods so far. Far sightened indeed !

Boredom strikes! 3 (May 10 - Oct 10)

Postby iam802 » Thu Jul 15, 2010 2:15 pm

Weather report for SG

Weather Forecast for Singapore from MD 15-07-2010 till MN 15-07-2010

Showers with thunder mainly over northern , eastern and western Singapore in the early afternoon.

Let's see if the US market goes down.

Note:
Can't really work today....neighbour's renovation still going on.
The lucky thing is I trade the US market and not the SG market. Else, can't feel the 'vibration' already.
