ECB May Reportedly Hint Reducing Monetary Stimulus in Jun Rate Talk Statement

As Reuters cited sources, after the first round of French presidential election, pro-EU candidate has a higher chance of winning, allowing a sigh of relief for European Central Bank monetary policy committee members.

With less threat from eurosceptic candidates and good performance in France's economy in recent years, many members saw rooms for sending signals in June towards reducing the monetary stimulus.

Be afraid... markets from stocks to real estate are set for an ‘almighty reality check’

‘For years, investors have been living in a dream world, artificially created by the central banks. But this alternative reality will eventually come to an end – possibly as early as this year’

China: May Money Supply

China's May money supply growth came in significantly below expectations at 9.76 percent, down from 10.4 percent in April.

Total social financing declined to 1.06 trillion yuan (HK$1.216 trillion) from 1.394 trillion yuan.

Liquidity conditions looked tight as tougher financial regulations resulted in higher borrowing costs and more difficulty in obtaining credit.

Smaller banks are said to be under pressure to raise lending rates.

Get ready for quantitative tightening

by Jim Rickards

The Taylor rule, which is one of the most accepted normative rules, indicates that interest rates should be 2.5%.

As of June 14th, the Fed raised rates by going up 1%, with a new target range of 1 to 1.25%.

Now is the time to increase your allocations to cash, gold, silver and U.S. Treasuries.
