The 2 Ways Investments Build Wealth

By Mark Ford

There are two ways that investments can build wealth. One is by the generation of income. The other is through appreciation — an increase in the value of the underlying asset.

Certain asset classes are inherently structured to increase in value, others to preserve value, and others to do both.

Investments that provide both income and appreciation are generally superior to investments that provide only one or the other.

But in developing an overall strategy of wealth building, the prudent investor will incorporate all three types of investments

Is That Company a Price Taker... or a Price Maker?

by Andrew Snyder

If we create a list of just three traits that turn a price taker into a price maker, this is it:-
1. Price makers have high barriers to entry (big miners).
2. They have a monopolistic lead on their competition (Amazon).
3. Consumers have imperfect knowledge of the market (organic products).

Use This Little-Known Number to Find Explosive Stocks

By Ben Morris

Short interest is the percentage of a company’s tradeable shares that folks are holding short.

Short sellers must buy shares to close out of their positions. And if the stock they’re holding short is rising, their losses are growing.

At some point, they’re going to jump out of the burning building. Remember, a stock can only go down so far. But there’s no limit to how much it can go up… especially if nobody is eager to sell their shares.

The “days to cover” – can give you an idea of how big a short squeeze might be. Once you get past four or five days to cover, you have the potential for an explosive move.
