7 Steps to Greatness By Anthony Norvell

The Chinese have a saying, "A journey of a thousand miles begins with but a single step." The first step of choosing what you want, letting your desires guide you to the path you wish to take, is probably one of the most important that you can take in applying our Million Dollar Secret to your own life and success.

Step by Step to Greatness

1. Pick the field you wish to specialize in; learn all you can about it, study the lives of the persons who have had outstanding success in that field, then strive to emulate their pattern of thinking.

2. Each day strive to put into action one or more of the qualities or traits that you have learned from the lives of great people. Imitate these thoughts, if you need be, at first, then you will gradually begin to originate great thoughts and actions of your own.

3. Take specialized training to perfect your gifts and talents. Assemble facts about the work you choose; see the good and bad sides, then, if you are still interested, let no one divert you from your goal.

4. Let what I call Discontent motivate you in your desire to achieve perfection. Never be satisfied with your present accomplishments or progress. When you are satisfied you cease to grow. Everything in nature is in a constant state of flux, from an imperfect to a more perfect state. Constantly desire change and evolvement, for this is the Law of Action that will help you constantly evolve higher and higher in the future.

5. Aim for the stars, even though you may not achieve them. At least such an ambitious mind will assure you of reaching some kind of high goal. The incentive for aiming high must come from within, your desire to achieve greatness. Browning said, "Ah, but a man‘s reach should exceed his grasp, / Or what‘s a heaven for?"

6. Create a vortex of mental activity about yourself. Break the inertia which may be holding you back by doing something, almost anything is preferable to sitting back and refusing to make an effort. There is a law in nature which states, "Action and reaction," "Cause and Effect."

7. Never be satisfied with the limitations that life seems to have placed on you and your expression of your talents. Remember, all great people had to break the mould of negativity and limitation to achieve their dreams. The power is within your mind to rise as high as you aspire.

The means are all about you; search them out and utilize them.

7 Ways to Motivate Yourself by Andrew G. Rosen

Whether you're looking for a new job, trying to make your current one better, or planning a career transition, you'll need a healthy dose of motivation. Without discipline and will, your dreams and ambitions never come to life, turning even the best intentions into dust.

Here are seven ways to motivate yourself, so you can pick and choose the ones that work best for you:

Find the why. When we set out to do something, it's important to keep the why in the front of your mind. Are you looking for a new job because you dislike your boss? Need more money? Want a shorter commute? Getting where we want to go can be a long journey, so never forget what set you out on the road to begin with. Write down why you're motivated and refer to it often.

Look forward. Pretend you have accomplished your goal. For example, if your goal is to learn a new language to impress a girl, you need to consider if the task is worth taking on--what if she rejects you? View things from multiple perspectives and ensure you are taking worthwhile roads. Once you commit, put the negative scenario out of your mind and concentrate on how good it will feel when you succeed.

Just do it. There's a reason the Nike slogan has endured for more than two decades. In the Data Age, we have so much information available to us at all times that it's easy to get lost in number-crunching oblivion. But there's nothing like rolling up your sleeves and getting started. Think about it: A perfect resume is useless if you don't send out. You'd be better served sending out 10 resumes that are almost perfect than none at all. Rarely are actions an absolute waste of time.

Reward yourself. If your goal is to get a new job, you will need to take action to make a change. Set goals and share them with someone you trust so that you can be held accountable. For example, promise that you'll send out two resumes a week to relevant jobs. If you succeed, reward yourself with a predetermined item. Likewise, if you fail, be sure to carry out a predetermined punishment. Even if a project doesn't feel as if it's worth your time, make it your business to make it worth your time. Otherwise, getting started can feel impossible.

Think of someone you hate. We all know jealousy and hatred are ugly emotions, but unless you're a Buddhist monastic, they're also a reality. Why not turn something dark into a tremendous motivator? Image the person you dislike taking action while you rest on your laurels? Wouldn't you rather be showered with happiness and rewards? Push yourself to get started--today!

Give yourself choices. Negative self-talk is often a high hurdle we must clear to get ourselves pumped up to do something we dread. Remember: You don't have to, you want to. This simple thought-swap can make any task more palatable.

Break it up. What sounds easier? Writing 1,000 words in two hours or writing 125 words in 15 minutes? Breaking your task into smaller parts will help you get started.

You cannot get sick enough to help sick people get better. You cannot get poor enough to help poor people thrive.

It is only in your thriving that you have anything to offer anyone.

If you're wanting to be of an advantage to others, be as tapped in, turned in, turned on as you can possibly be.

The achievement of anything that you desire must be considered success, whether it is a trophy or money or relationships or things.

But if you will let your standard of success be your achievement of joy—everything else will fall easily into place.

For in the finding of joy, you are finding vibrational alignment with the resources of the Universe.

All is well, and you will never get it done. Life is supposed to be fun.

No one is taking score of any kind, and if you will stop taking score so much, you will feel a whole lot better — and as you feel a whole lot better, more of the things that you want right now will flow to you.

You will never be in a place where all of the things that you are wanting will be satisfied right now, or then you could be complete — and you never can be.

This incomplete place that you stand is the best place that you could be. You are right on track, right on schedule. Everything is unfolding perfectly.

All is really well. Have fun. Have fun. Have fun!

You want the desire because it is the idea or the goal or the Creation that is responsible for a good amount of Life Force to flow through you.

The main event is the Life Force that is flowing through you, not the manifestation.

And if you don't believe us now, wait until that manifestation has popped, and realize that its power to draw life through you will be greatly diminished.

That's why you keep wanting another goal and another goal and another goal...

The more you say "I don't remember," the more you cannot remember.

You cannot find something that's "lost". When you've decided that it's lost, when it's lost to you, it is lost.

The Universe could not possibly show it to you.

Here's how to regain or retain your creative spark by Harvey Mackay

Be aware of what's going on around you. A scientist needs to analyze all available facts and every bit of research. Stay on top of current business trends. Learn from other people's ideas and mistakes.

Explore. Examine all of your options and alternatives, no matter how far-fetched they may seem at first. Don't rule anything out as you look for solutions and new approaches.

Be courageous. You've got to be fearless and not worry about what others may think. Don't try to be like everyone else. Take your own approach, whatever you're doing. Prepare to accept some criticism but don't take it personally.

Rely on your instincts. As you assimilate the information around you and assess the possibilities, factor in your instincts to come up with creative solutions. As legendary film director Frank Capra said, "A hunch is creativity trying to tell you something."

Assess your options. Sort your ideas into categories, and rank them. Try combining ideas, and eliminate any that don't fit what you're looking for.

Be realistic. Step back and evaluate how your idea or solution is likely to play out in the real world. Look at the upside, but consider the downside as well. Not all great ideas will work, but they may lead to other solutions.

Stick with it. You need to be persistent if you want to achieve anything significant. A novel takes a long time to write; a successful business may take years to build. Keep a detailed picture of the intended result in your mind to help you stay focused and move forward.

Be patient. You can't hurry creativity, so take time to ponder your ideas. Sit back and take time to think things over. That's usually how the best ideas bloom.

Evaluate the results. At the end of the process, ask yourself: Has my vision been realized? Learn from what works and what fails so you can move on to your next project.

Creativity isn't just a process. It's a value. If you value success, get creative!

Mackay's Moral: It only takes a little spark to ignite a great fire.

Who you really are is Nonphysical Energy focused in a physical body, knowing full well that all is well and always has been and always will be.

You are here to experience the supreme pleasure of concluding new desires, and then of bringing yourself into vibrational alignment with the new desire that you've concluded — for the purpose of taking thought beyond that which it has been before.
