Rather than trying to monitor your thoughts, we encourage that you simply pay attention to how you are feeling.

For if you should choose a thought that is not in harmony with the way that broader, older, wiser, loving Inner Being part of you sees it, you will feel the discord; and then you can easily redirect your thought to something that feels better and, therefore, serves you better.

Just for Today By Josh Hinds

Just for today choose to slow down just a bit. Make the decision to watch a sunset -- or if you're an early riser, a sunrise. Decide that during this time you will block out any apprehension you might be feeling for what's going on in your life, just long enough to fully be in the moment.

Encourage and Inspire Others...

Make the choice to reach out to the person who appears to be alone -- you might make a new friend or trusted colleague. At the least you'll benefit from the act of doing a kindness for another.

Reach out to someone who might be struggling or looking for guidance. Offer to mentor that person. You have unique talents, gifts, and experiences that would benefit others who might be just beginning on the path you've been
effectively navigating for years.

You can literally be a hero to another person. Your encouragement, given at just the right moment has the ability to propel you to near super hero status in the eyes of another. Therefore, don't be stingy with it, look for ways to inspire others to be the best they can be.

Practice Random Acts of Kindness...

Random acts of kindness are incredibly powerful gifts we can give to others, but the benefits don't stop with the person we are sharing them with. They also have a boomerang effect in that while we are doing for another, the positive benefits also make their way back to us at the same time.

It's a powerful phenomenon -- the benefits of which can be far reaching.

Choose Purpose Over Chance...

As you move through your day remember that you can either operate by chance, or with purpose. Chance, is certainly one choice, but the end result never works out as well as deciding on purpose. Beginning the journey of living on purpose can be as simple as taking the time each night to write down some necessary tasks or items that when completed will get you to where you want to go in life.

In the grand scheme of things the time it will take to develop that habit is nothing compared to the vast benefits you'll gain as a result. Make the choice to live on purpose over chance.

Remember...

It's your life, LIVE BIG!

The 4 Stages of Learning a New Skill By Rich Schefren

Stage 1. Unconscious Incompetence. This is when you don't know how to do it, and you don't even know that you don't know.

Stage 2. Conscious Incompetence. This is when you know what you don't know, and you begin to work on learning it.

Stage 3. Conscious Competence. This is when you know what you need to know - and you can do it. But it takes all of your concentration.

Stage 4. Unconscious Competence. This is when you can perform the skill without even thinking about it. It's now a habit.

Visualize Success If You Want to Fail
By David DiSalvo / Source: Forbes

If you have been paying any attention to the self help industry lo these many years, you know that "positive visualization" is a trademark best practice with few equals.

What could be simpler? For one to succeed, one must visualize attaining the object of success. Few would quarrel with such perfunctory logic.

But could it be that the self-evidence of positive visualization is little more than a bookstore mirage? Though assumed true, it's hard to say exactly why the practice works–if it works.

Enter the latest round of research aimed at testing the mettle of self-help platitudes. Researchers Heather Kappes and Gabriele Oettingen, publishing in the Journal of Experimental Social Psychology, suggest to us that not only is positive visualization ineffective, it's counterproductive. A practice proffered to help us succeed may do just the opposite.

During the course of four experiments, Kappes and Oettingen demonstrated that conjuring positive fantasies of success drains the energy out of ambition. When we imagine having reached what we want, our brains fall for the trick.

Instead of mustering more energy to get "there," we inadvertently trigger a relaxation response that mimics how we would feel if we'd actually reached the goal.

Physiologically, we slide into our comfy shoes; blood pressure lowers, heart rate decreases, all is well in the success world of our mind's making.

The research also uncovers that the more pressing the need to succeed, the more deflating positive visualization becomes. One of the experiments tested whether water-deprived participants would experience an energy drain from visualizing a glass of icy cold water (a simple but elegant study design) and found that indeed, in even something so basic, the brain responds as if the goal has been reached.

From a "proof is in the pudding" standpoint, the research showed that participants told to visualize attaining goals throughout the course of the week ended up attaining far fewer goals than a control group told they could mull over the week's challenges any way they liked. The positive visualizers also self-reported feeling less energetic than the control group, and physiological tests supported their claim.

So if not crafting positive fantasies of success, what might be a better use of our time and imagination? Kappes and Oettingen suggest we try critical visualization, in which realistic obstacles, setbacks, and other decidedly not-so-positive factors are considered. Even failure itself, in all its rawness, should be thrown in and dabbled with as a possible outcome. As odd as it sounds, this research suggests that even random daydreaming is less deflating than positive fantasizing.

Ironically, shifting into positive fantasy mode is most effective when we need to decrease our energy expenditure, when, for example, anxiety is getting the better of us. In that case, the healthiest move is denying the fire more fuel, and it seems that positive visualization is a commendably effective tool for doing exactly that.

Many people focus upon unwanted things, with no deliberate attention to the emotional Guidance within them, and then they try to compensate for their lackful thinking with physical action.

And because of the misalignment of Energy, they do not get results from their action, so then they try harder by offering more action, but still things do not improve.

Like the air you breathe, abundance in all things is available to you. Your life will simply be as good as you allow it to be.

As you deliberately look for positive aspects in others who surround you, you will train your Vibrational propensity into increasing improved Vibrations.

So it does not matter how many negative thoughts you have thought before, or how long you have been negatively focused. You can deliberately focus—right now—on an improved thought.

Because the Law of Attraction is responding to your current thought, more thoughts like that current thought are most likely to come into focus for you. In other words, the Law of Attraction (that which is like unto itself, is drawn) will continue to dish up for you more and more thoughts that match your current Vibrational frequency.

And so, the more you deliberately choose better-feeling thoughts, the more easy and ready access you will have to much better-feeling
Thoughts.

We teach meditation because it is actually easier, in some situations, to help you find “no thought” than to find a positive thought. . . . There is no better path to wonderful, meaningful, good-feeling relationships than the combination of a daily meditation—allowing your Vibration to find its natural balance—and the deliberate focusing upon positive aspects.

If we were talking to you on your first day here we would say, "Welcome to planet Earth. There is nothing that you cannot be or do or have. And your work here—your lifetime career—is to seek joy.

"As you think thoughts that feel good to you, you will be in harmony with who-you-really-are. And in doing so you will utilize your profound freedom.

Seek joy first, and all of the growth that you could ever imagine will come joyously and abundantly unto you."
