<<no bridge, no deal >>

san : while i try to stay apolitical...at times, occasionally i am curious. and on your post, i am on 2 counts...

1) in what context were these words uttered? high-handedness in treating our neighbour, or a pure threat?
2) how do these 4 words instil wisdom? (not bashing u ok :D )

When you feed the cow with fermented gruel so that it may yield more milk, the milk emits an unpleasant smell. When people engross themselves too much with the trifles of the world, their conduct and character become unpleasant.

It is indeed tragic to witness the downfall of the man, struggling in despair and distress. If only every one examines these: What are my qualifications? What is my position? They can soon realize their downfall.

Will a tiger, however hungry, eat popcorn or monkey nuts? Aim at the goal which your lineage entitles you; how can the parrot taste the sweetness of the mango if it pecks at the fruit of the cotton-tree?

Let your effort be in-keeping with the dignity of the goal. Never slacken effort, whatever the obstacle, however long the journey.

my dear W:

yes, we r not trying to dwell too much on politics issues, however i feel that - e younger generations r 'too small picture' to cope w our dailies, they might not be awareful of how singapore (e spaces) has evolved - anthropologically.

on e above phrase: some history facts, i am sure u know abt them, our ties that are intrinsically linked to our neighbour on sand-air-water-bridge issues, ie. e contentious plan was to build a bridge to replace a causeway bet. e 2 countries was eventually aborted.

1. on e recent developments of singapore w e IRs,
2. msia has announced its plans on e iskandar development region, and
3. our water treaty expiring in 2012;

@ e right time, would there might be a possibility of igniting fuels and more deals again??
(mmm ... your wisdom roots lor)

for those who have difficulties forgiving someone, i would like to share something i learnt from a guest in the oprah winfrey show (what unforgiveness does to our body) --

when u can't forgive someone, it is like drinking poison and then expecting the other person to die!

oftentimes you give others the opportunity to create yr happiness, and many times they fail to create it the way you want it. Why? Because only one person can be in charge of yr joy, of yr bliss, and that's you. So even yr parents, yr child, yr spouse - they do not have the control to create yr happiness. They simply have the opportunity to share in yr happiness. Yr joy lies within you. - quote fm lisa nichols, in the book "the secret"
