If version 1 cannot get it right and lacks the adoption rate....will version 2 be a success?

Unlikely, unless they fundamentally improve

As K has said, 'unless they fundamentally improve'

RIMM continues to edge down in a narrow price range.

The Chikou Span support for RIMM is around $55.69

And at current trading session, RIMM has already break that support, though it might try to rally back later in the day.

However, there isn’t any catalyst for RIMM at this moment.

Playbook is still not officially released. And even if it is, what will be the sales volume be like?

The plus point for RIMM is, unlike PALM way back, it is in a fairly strong cash position.

At this moment, nothing on the Ichimoku Daily Chart is telling me that the trend has change for RIMM. Until the trend changes, RIMM remains bearish.

Note:

I have SHORT MAY CALL spreads on RIMM.

Apple Responsible for BlackBerry PlayBook Delay?

http://www.gottabemobile.com/2011/04/07 ... ook-delay/

Note:
If the above is true, RIMM is screwed. This reminds me of Palm; only diff RIMM cashflow is stronger.

RIMM is so screwed.

Unfair interview on BBC?

--
RIM CEO calls a halt to BBC Click interview

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/programmes/c ... 456798.stm

...

After questioning him about RIM's new Playbook tablet, he asked a question for BBC Click about RIM's problems in India and the Middle East, where governments want to gain greater access to the tight security system used for Blackberry's business users.

Mr Lazaridis responded by saying the question was unfair, and that the interview was over.

U.A.E. Puts Curbs On Email

http://online.wsj.com/article/SB1000142 ... 66750.html

TORONTO—BlackBerry maker Research In Motion Ltd. confirmed Sunday that the United Arab Emirates will stop individuals and small businesses from using the mobile device's highly secure corporate-email services.

The restriction, effective May 1, applies only to individuals and businesses with fewer than 20 subscriptions to BlackBerry Enterprise Services accounts, said a spokeswoman for the U.A.E.'s Telecommunications Regulatory Authority. The regulator didn't give a reason for its decision.

.....

Note:
Based on the above limitation, I wonder what pisses RIMM's CEO so much during the BBC interview.

RIMM’s Ichimoku chart is a good example of a poor product launch reflected on the technical chart.

Monday (Apr 18) see RIMM price starting to reverse and staying above the Tenkan sen as the Playbook is due to be launch on Apr 19.

On Apr 19, we can clearly see that RIMM price fails to go beyond Monday’s high and reverse heading down towards $53.

If the demand is high for Playbook, I would think the price will have went on to go higher; maybe hitting $56

On top of that, another possible cause for RIMM poor price performance could be due to the CEO’s ‘unfair’ comments on the BBC when he was questioned about the ban of RIMM’s services in Middle East.

Both incidents highlight the challenges that RIMM is facing.

1. Creating the new products that the market wants and shake off the laggard image (behind Apple).

2. Resolving the issues in Middle East and grow their revenue in their traditional BlackBerry services.

Unfortunately, at this point, there is no silver lining for RIMM.
