GM executives give bankruptcy signal by selling shares

http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2009/05/1 ... ng-shares/

...

These transactions occurred between Friday an Monday, as the shares jettisoned between $1.45 and $1.61 per share. Among those relinquishing their shares were Vice Chairman Thomas Stephens and Vice Chairman Robert Lutz.

time to start scrutinizing GM's chart.... identify a couple major supports....and then discount a bit more....then cock weapon, ready to pull trigger.... let's say...another few weeks?

very good stuff...i agree...this should be a "sticky"

so....now, we speculate if GM will file chap 11 or chap 7...

to summarize....if GM files chap 7...then HK liao...stock value will be ZERO...there's no argument here..

but if it files chap 11...her stocks will still possess a value which is totally dependent on free market action... and if GM does not meet with listing requirements...it will trade Over the Counter or under Pink Sheets...SEC will not care about this.. but surely, that will make buying and selling much harder as it is not traded in an exchange...

my guess.... at most file chap 11....and continue to trade in NYSE....

i will buy it...not now though...a little later...provided my S$3 only capital permits me so...

mmm ... very, very useful links.

I guess the key issues are:

- technically, how much GM's floor level will be, pending its final verdict in 2 weeks' time? very likely to go < $1?

- once it goes bankrupt, will revival ever take place? if so, it is likely to be based on mid-term timeline, e.g. 2010 - 2011? what are the catalyst then? more China factories? less insurance? extend its network of retailers/ distributors? selling more brands?

- if so, what's the exchange/ residual value for restructure activities for existing shareholders? assuming, this becomes a penny stock of $0.5c ...

- for new shareholders, what kind of fundamental belief they have? why would they stake their faith in the company again?

i don't know the answers, but all kinda of black swan events will happen; & given the set up of this trade is risky by nature ... ...
