Global cultural icon accelerating expansion

Following a remarkable 1H25, Pop Mart expedites expansion of its global footprint (+200 stores this year, vs. earlier guidance of +100), expects overseas sales to surpass domestic by end-2025

Targets at full-year revenue of >RMB30bn (revised from RM20bn) and net margin of c.35%, driven by scale, regional optimisation, and cost efficiencies

Raise FY25/26 earnings by 20%/18% on higher margins, and revise TP to HKD368 on robust business outlook and ample room for revenue diversification; maintain BUY

Pop Mart’s new mini Labubu doll sells out instantly across China online retail channels

The new batch of 28 standard edition Labubus, which stand about 10.5 centimetres (4.1 inches) tall and come in a variety of colours, were priced at 79 yuan (S$14.2) apiece in China.

The company also began sales of a larger, more premium version of the doll sold for 499 yuan and a Labubu-themed pendant.

The robust demand in China bodes well for launches in major overseas markets including the US, Thailand and Australia.

Labubu keeps on striking the right chord

On Dewu App, a trendy online shopping platform, the Labubu third-generation series, released in April, has been purchased by 580,000 users, with more than 740,000 others listing it as "wanted".

Revenue from Labubu skyrocketed 6.7 times to 4.81 billion yuan, while Skullpanda brought in about 1.2 billion yuan, more than doubling from a year earlier.

The company is transitioning from a blind-box seller to a vertically integrated IP incubator, where hits like Labubu and Twinkle Twinkle, serve as both growth engines and proof of concept.

The company's growing ecosystem — spanning product, animation, retail experience, and licensing — suggests a scalable model.

<Research>JPM Upgrades POP MART (09992.HK) to Overweight, Raises TP to $320

JPMorgan released a research report upgrading POP MART from Neutral to Overweight, and raising its target price from $300 to $320.

JPMorgan noted that, since reaching a recent peak on 26 August, the Company's stock price has fallen approx. 24% in total, while the HSI has risen about 7% over the same period.

The broker believed that this implies that investors lowered their forecasts for the Company and adopted a more conservative stance.

After raising its 2025-2027 earnings forecasts by 5-7%, JPMorgan projected POP MART's sales/ adjusted earnings to increase by 165%/ 276% YoY in 2025, and by 28%/ 29% YoY in 2026.
