SINGAPORE - Singapore Airlines, the world's second-biggest airline by market value, said on Monday it filled 70.8 per cent of the space available on its planes for passengers and cargo in July.

The figure was lower than 71 per cent recorded in June 2010 but higher than 69.7 per cent in July 2009.

Singapore Airlines said its passenger load for July stood at 82.4 per cent compared with 82.8 per cent in June and 79.7 per cent a year ago. -- REUTERS

Singapore Airlines ST: as long as 15.6 is support look for 16.9 <SIAL.SI>

Click here to see our chart:
http://www.tradingcentral.com/chart/SIA ... 020237.gif

Our pivot point is at 15.6.

Our preference: as long as 15.6 is support look for 16.9.

Alternative scenario: the downside breakout of 15.6 would call for 15.1 and 14.8.

Comment: the RSI is above 50. The MACD is below its signal line and positive.

The stock could retrace in the short term. Moreover, the stock is above its 20 and 50 day MA (standing respectively at 15.79 and 15.6). Singapore Airlinesis currently trading near its 52 week high reached at 16.4 on 06/08/10.

Supports and resistances: 17.2 *16.9 **16.7 16 last 15.8 15.6 **15.1 *

This is wonderful news :!: I turned down several opportunities to visit S America because of the long hauls. And now we have this:
SINGAPORE - Singapore Airlines, the world's second largest carrier by market value, said on Thursday it will expand its network to South America starting March 2011.

The airline said in a statement it will fly to the Brazilian city of Sao Paolo via Barcelona three times a week. -- REUTERS

Not vested. From Kim Eng:-

PE 13 ?

Singapore Airlines (SIA SP, $16.22, BUY, TP $18.90)

September provided another steady month for SIA where load factors remained firm at over 80% on the passenger side.

Passenger loads remained stable, while both cargo capacity and traffic continued to
climb.

With this ongoing positive showing, we maintain our BUY recommendation and target price of $18.90.

The President of Panama will be in town. With SIA flying to Sao Paulo from March 2011, will we see more Presidents (fr Chile, Venezuela, Brazil, Argentina, Ecuador, Columbia, Bolivia and Peru) here? I'm sure PM Lee will head there next year
