Somebody always know something you don't...

I think its strange that SGX/MAS doesn't prosecute these ppe. for insider trading...

Or do we even have an agency with powers similar to SEC in the US??

All I see is a slap on the hand...

There are actually 2 separate contract announcements from Boustead. One is the S$40 million one with Cenco Inc., while the other's value is not stated and is with the Safran Group.

I will be summarizing both contracts during my month-end Portfolio Review on my blog.

Yupz. I was asking SGX corp comms a question recently relating to something else, and this was part of their response to me -
"SGX has, with effect from 1 March 2004, adopted a more risk-based approach to regulating issuers. Under this approach, greater regulatory attention is focused on areas that pose significant risks and where market transparency, integrity or investor protection may be compromised if the risks materialise."

Ya right.

Well I guess it's unavoidable that some of this news will leak out. It's very hard to prevent it. But since these are just short-term price fluctuations, I would not worry too much about it. :)

Actually this is a BIG PROBLEM.

If this was the US, quite a no. of people would be in jail...

If it was a bigger piece of news it would have made a VAST difference between the winners and the losing suckers... so I don't think it is an issue we can just brush aside...

Unless of cos, we are the recipients of that early news

YO BJackie,

Their answer is quite a standard 'template' and politically correct.

Again, what would you be asking them? But i agree that we should have more transparency and regulations ...

And i don't trade SGX stocks anymore - not at this moment of time (cycle).

Acting somewhat as a prelude to the FY 2010 results release some time next month in May 2010, FF Wong (CEO of Boustead) has purchased 1,000,000 shares at a price of S$0.86 on April 13, 2010. 160,000 shares were purchased from the open market while the remaining 840,000 shares were bought through a married deal. With this transaction, his stake in Boustead rises to 33.01% or 166,819,208 shares. :D

It is interesting to note that the last time FF Wong purchased shares in his own name in Boustead was way back on March 16, 2009, at a price of S$0.435. For him to purchase 1,000 lots at a price double that of his last purchase would signify confidence in the prospects of the Company; and perhaps hinting that there could be more material positive developments to come?

Meanwhile, another director Loh Kai Keong has sold off his deemed stake of 500,000 shares at S$0.85, but is still holding on tight to his direct stake. :)
