Dont know what is short term and medium term anymore...

If I'm a momentum player now, I will ride it until it breaks.

And I would be using a very tight Trailing Stop Loss. Some people define tight as 2-3%.

Spent the night re-reading chapter 12 of HTMMIS by O'Neil and checking buy signals from my favorite counters. Hoping to spot some positive signs in the midst of this bear market.. alas.. none in sight. No cup, no saucer, no spring in sight.

As i finished the last page of chapter 12, pg 148. I was stuck by an uncanny feeling over Mr O'Neil's warning at the end of the chapter.

 A Loud Warning to the Wise About Bear Markets!!!
Let me offer one last bit of judicious guidance. If you are new to the stock market or the historically tested and proven strategies outlined in this book, ........ near the beginning or middle of a bear market, do not expect the presumed buy patterns to work. Most will definitely be defective. You absolutely do not buy breakouts during a bear market. ........... The general market is turning negative. It is selling time. Be patient, keep studying, and be 100% prepared. Later, at the least expected time, when all the news is terrible, winter will ultimately pass and a great new bull market will suddenly spring to life. The practical techniques and proven disciplines discussed here should work for you for many, many future economic cycles.

Hi RidingOntop

Thank Q :)
I'm executing this bit. It's a proven technique from all my 'old' experiences:
Be patient, keep studying, and be 100% prepared.

Experiences paying off for you ya? ;) You know they say, "When a man with experience crosses path with a man with money, the man with the experience gets the money, while the other gets an experience."

Guess that happens often in the market, and especially so during corrections?

I'm glad i don't have much cash at hand now, so have to just sit and watch. It's a blessing in disguise because the counters i intended to buy actually went lower.. :o Not having capital during this early period of my first bear actually saved me many heartaches and i got "free" lessons on the value of patience in the market. Meahwhile.. we continue to store power for next uptrend..

Dear San,

Hahaha.. just doing some practice.. how's your TA training? :)

Still have preparation work to do for the educational project... exercising patience with partners! (Unusual but found myself the slave driver of the team) Hahaha..
